You may try the chat demo application below. Server and Client exe are provided for convenience, runtime is limited to 10 Minutes. The server must be running before starting the client. IP set to 127.0.0.1.
Source cgr is 4.3.2. Install the custom channel SocketServerText beforehand, a trial version can be found here. Quest3D connection problems are reported in the debug window. Be aware of communication restrictions imposed by Flash.
